Apps for Windows 8

Windows 8 is a Microsoft operating system that can be used on desktops, laptops, tablets, and home theater PCs. Windows 8 has a new user interface based on "Modern UI" design language. It features a start screen with live tiles representing applications and the new Windows Store for purchasing applications to run on this operating system.

Windows Store App

A Windows Store app is a new type of application that runs on Windows 8 devices. Instead of static icons, live tiles are used which show fresh content and notifications and are updated using windows push notification even when the apps are not running. They run in a single window that fills the entire screen by default and work with variety of input sources like touch, mouse, keyboard and pen. You can write Windows Store app in any language you are familiar with such as C# or Visual Basic with XAML, C++ with XAML or DirectX, and JavaScript with HTML/CSS.

Our experience in Windows store app development spans integrating features like web service integration, camera, media playback and windows store app related features like Live Tile notification, snap view, semantic zoom, PlayTo, Charm bar and App bar.

Developer tools like Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2012 for Windows 8, Blend for Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 for Windows 8, the Windows 8 software development kit (SDK), and project templates and a developer license for Windows 8 are needed for creating new Windows Store apps. Windows Store apps are tightly sandboxed and apps you create will reach millions of users through the Windows Store after the certification process by Windows Store.
