In the competitive landscape of digital giving, the client identified several key barriers to donor engagement.

  • Mandatory Registration: Most platforms require full profile creation, which often leads to "cart abandonment" by donors who prefer privacy and speed.
  • Limited Payment Versatility: Traditional platforms rarely support modern payment methods like cryptocurrency or popular digital wallets (Venmo, Apple Pay), limiting the donor base.
  • Search Complexity: Users found it difficult to verify the legitimacy of organizations or search across specific categories like Native American Nations or specific schools.
  • Receipting Hurdles: Automating tax-deductible receipts for both registered and guest users was a significant operational requirement.
     

QBurst Solution: Multi-Channel Giving Ecosystem

We architected a robust backend using Python/Django and Java, supported by an AWS infrastructure for high availability and search speed. The frontend utilizes Flutter to provide a consistent, high-quality experience across iOS and Android devices.

  • Coinbase Commerce Integration: Developed a secure request-link system where the backend communicates with the Coinbase API to generate dynamic payment pages. This allows donors to pay via QR code or direct wallet-app triggers.
  • Agile Payment Stack: Integrated Stripe for credit cards alongside Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Venmo to cater to donor preferences.
  • High-Speed NPO Discovery: Implemented AWS Elastic Search to allow users to filter through thousands of IRS-approved entities with sub-second latency.
  • Automated Tax Governance: Built a logic engine to generate and email tax receipts instantly, even for users operating in "Guest Mode."

By offloading sensitive payment data to trusted partners like Stripe and Coinbase, we ensured the platform remains lean, secure, and compliant with international financial standards.
