QBurst partnered with a leading provider of health information management solutions to develop mobile and web applications for healthcare organizations. The mobile application can be used by physicians to simplify their work during and after patient examinations. The web applications facilitate administrative work in hospitals and provide deep insights to the management, helping them make well-informed decisions. We used native frameworks to develop mobile applications for multiple platforms and contributed to web applications by developing web services using ASP.NET. We also devised a synchronization logic for the web and mobile applications.
We developed multiple solutions that transformed the administrative and clinical operations of the healthcare organization. These included web based applications as well as native apps for mobile devices.
When physicians log in via their mobile device, the native app performs an initial synchronization before becoming functional. This synchronization with the administrative web app will continue to happen every 15 minutes so that both physicians and administrators have access to the latest data. We created the synchronization logic and implemented it through web services using ASP.NET. The frontend of the web applications was developed using Adobe Flex.
The mobile app has a simple user interface with drop-down menus and submit buttons. To use the app, physicians need to first log in and select a location, which is the filter parameter to generate patient list. The app also integrates with the web application to retrieve data such as patient history, patient rounding list, practitioners’ schedules, and ICD-9 and CPT codes.
These applications are being used by many healthcare organizations in the United States. The Doctor’s App has revolutionized the way physicians manage point-of-care treatment of their patients. Together, the web and mobile applications helped increase productivity and efficiency in hospitals.
These challenges resulted in poor productivity and subsequent financial loss to the organization.
