Building a Scalable Cloud-Native CI/CD Platform on AWS
We designed and implemented a centralized, cloud-native CI/CD platform to modernize the client’s DevOps operations and support scalable software delivery across teams and environments.
At the core of the solution, Jenkins was containerized and deployed on Amazon ECS to enable high availability, automated failover, and simplified operational management.
To support elastic scaling, the platform leveraged dynamically provisioned EC2 agents using Jenkins EC2 plugins. Standardized build environments were created through custom Amazon Machine Images generated using Packer, ensuring consistency across all pipelines and workloads.
Infrastructure-as-Code and Automation
To eliminate configuration drift and improve governance, we implemented a complete infrastructure-as-code approach across the CI/CD ecosystem.
- Jenkins Configuration as Code (JCasC) for version-controlled management of credentials, security configurations, users, and global settings.
- YAML-based job definitions processed through custom Groovy bootstrap scripts and Job DSL automation.
- Automated provisioning and updating of multibranch and pipeline jobs directly from GitHub-managed YAML files.
