Appointment comes as Japanese enterprises accelerate AI & digital transformation investment, positioning QBurst to expand its enterprise footprint in the region
QBurst, a leading design-led digital engineering firm powered by its High AI-Q framework, has named Sriram Venkataraman as Strategic Growth Advisor to spearhead its expansion in Japan. The appointment comes as Japan's IT modernization services market, a key driver of enterprise demand, is projected to grow from ¥1,304 billion in 2025 to ¥2,123 billion by 2030, according to IDC, as roughly 80% of large and mid-sized Japanese enterprises still operate on legacy systems.
Sriram will work with QBurst’s local BU leadership and advise on its growth strategy, new client acquisition, and opportunity conversion efforts. His mandate focuses on converting new enterprise demand through his deep knowledge of the market and experience in growing services business for other IT majors, while expanding service delivery for existing accounts. The appointment builds on QBurst's growing presence in the region and established foundation with global retail brands. The company is a certified LY Corporation technology partner, recognized for technical excellence in the "Communication" category, supporting luxury retail, fashion, and consumer electronics enterprises leveraging the LINE ecosystem for customer engagement.
Arun ‘Rak’ Ramchandran, CEO of QBurst, said, “Japan's enterprises are modernizing on their own terms, adopting AI deliberately, investing in digital transformation, and increasingly demanding of partners who understand both the technology and the trust required to do business here. That's especially true as we see growing enterprise demand for agentic AI and design-led digital engineering across sectors like retail and manufacturing. Sriram has a distinctive understanding of the market, backed by decades of experience, that can help us move more decisively from conversations to commitments.”
Sriram brings more than four decades of experience in the IT industry, with extensive experience building businesses and developing enterprise relationships across Japan and Asia-Pacific. Early in his career, he established Infosys Limited’s Japan operations in 1997, subsequently scaling the business across the broader Asia-Pacific region, including China and Australia, over a 19-year period before moving on to advisory work in 2016.
Sriram has since advised organizations on cross-border initiatives spanning technology, investment, and business development. His clients have included Japanese systems integrators, private equity and venture capital firms, and semiconductor distributors.
“I am pleased to join QBurst at an important stage of its growth in Japan. What drew me to QBurst is that they're not trying to import a model; they're building one suited to how Japanese enterprises actually make decisions and drive measurable business outcomes. I see significant potential to build that value in Japan, with a long-term approach grounded in trust, local understanding, and execution,” said Sriram Venkataraman.
Sriram’s experience extends to industry and public-sector advisory roles in Japan, including service on the Expert Group on Foreign Direct Investment under the Japanese Cabinet Office and as former President of TiE Japan. He has also held board positions with Kokuyo Camlin in India and EF Polymer in Japan.
